Ally 365 Awards
Companies will neglect a 365 day a year plan for LGBTQ+ inclusion and try to justify themselves with a one-off Pride campaign in June. To highlight this Ally Gap, the difference between calling oneself an ally and actually being an ally, LinkedIn will create the Ally 365 Awards to highlight the business leaders that are not just allies in the month of June, but 365 days a year.
May
The Ally 365 Awards are announced, along with the 7 types of allies, and individuals are called on to nominate business leaders.
June
Submissions will open for the inaugural month of the Ally 365 Awards and will carry on until the end of the year.
July +
As business leaders become recognized, they will receive a badge that will be displayed on their LinkedIn profile, and they will be added to the Ally Network page.
The 21 business leaders who won in the previous year’s Ally 365 Awards will be invited to LinkedIn’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Not only will they be celebrated by being invited to be a part of LinkedIn’s Ally Network float in the city’s Pride Celebration Parade…
…but they will also be able to attend The Ally Leadership Summit. This Summit will be a series of seminars and training on how to lead a more inclusive business for the LGBTQ+ community all year round.
